The stoves you are about to look at HAVE NOT YET BEEN SERVICED. IE: they are in the same condition as when we pulled them out of a house (There are a few exceptions). They have been used for 60+ years and most likely have never been serviced.
We will service the stove once we have secured a purchase commitment. Prices shown includes all parts and full mechanical servicing, with minor repairs. (Clocks/timers cannot be repaired). Major repairs, including rotisserie motors, thermostats, safety valves, etc. can be done at extra cost). Also included is full exterior cleaning and light interior cleaning. Restoration of chrome, enamel, etc. is NOT included and is generally NOT available. Full interior cleaning, delivery, and installation available at extra cost.
Many of our stoves have “match-lit” ovens, IE, the oven must be lit with a match/hand-held sparker, etc. anytime it is used. Conversion to an auto-lighting oven safety system, utilizing a thermocouple safety valve with standing pilot, can be done for around $950/oven on most stoves.
If you or your shipper are picking up a stove: We charge to expertly load or assist loading your vehicle ($250 for single oven stoves, $500 for double oven stoves over 40”), assuring a fast, safe load without injury to body, stove, or vehicle. If you do not want us to assist/load, we roll your stove to the street, rain or shine, and remove it from our rolling platform. We provide no advice, tools, padding, boxes, etc. Either way, you should bring at least two 16' ratchet straps with 1"-2" webbing, packing material, packing blankets, 2-3 storage bins to hold parts. If you use/keep our rolling platform to load your stove into your vehicle, the charge is $50
Price includes full service.
61-1/4" W x 30" D x 57-1/2" H. (Cooktop surface is 36")
A truly EPIC stove, with great capacity, stunning looks, and in exceptionally fine ORIGINAL condition inside and out. 6 cooktop burners. Two ovens: one small with warming compartment on top and broiler below, one large. Both upper and lower ovens are equipped with the original auto-lighting safety systems. Storage compartment in-between for baking sheets etc.
This stove is not compatible with propane.
While the cooktop burners and a pilot need a bit of attention, the lack of rust or grease/dirt inside and out is hard for us to believe. You are not going to find a stove with this much capacity with such stunning looks of this era at a better price.
Priced fully serviced (working perfectly, except clock). Exterior fully cleaned, interior lightly cleaned.
This handsome cooker may be small in stature, but it’s otherwise strutting out with typically great O’Keefe-Merritt lines and features: auto-lighting oven with broiler located below, middle griddle, and storage on the left. Previously restored and re-enameled cobalt-blue (some would say purple).
When the Chambers model D hit the market in the late 60’s, it still had all the features that made Chambers famous (“In-A-Top” broiler, retained heat cooking in the oven and ThermoWell). The problem, though, was that the folks driving the boat had inexplicably ditched the beautiful styling for Bauhaus bombast, with LOTS of sharp angles and corners to trap dirt and grease. Adding insult to injury were 4 constantly burning pilots for the oven, broiler, ThermoWell, and cooktop burners that made a mockery of the marketing pitch for a stove that “Cooks with the gas turned off”. It’s no wonder the late, un-lamented Model D was the end of the line for the brand.
We’re not doing a good job of selling this guy, are we?
Well, we suppose it does have it’s own unique charm for someone out there. If that’s you, hey, no judgement! We will sell you this stove. Besides, Jasper has solid engineering and build quality (IE, it works really well!), and is in very nice shape.

It doesn’t get more stunning than a red Chambers model C. Just imagine “Erik” ensconced in YOUR kitchen. The very first C iteration, made 1949-’50. Very nice enamel panels, with two small “dings” on the top edge of the oven door (replaced at extra price). Otherwise, the chrome cooktop is in nice shape, as are the burner control levers and levers for the oven, griddle and service cabinet (the spots on the closeup of the oven lever are dried cleaner. Will update that shot soon).
Oven and timer dials will be replaced, matching the yellow cloisonné badge on the backsplash. Burners, grates, drip pans etc. are in average shape. The very pronounced speckled porcelain interior compartments are in excellent shape, as are the oven racks, VERY unusual in a Chambers this old.
If you are love cooking, you will LOVE cooking on a Chambers. The griddle and flip-up broiler are always at your fingertips. The 3 cooktop burners are quick to heat and easy to finesse. The ThermoWell functions as both a slow cooker (for broth, soup and stew), AND, with the optional ThermoBaker, as a mini-oven, for every thing from roasts to baked potatoes to pies.
“Erik’s” oven is match-lit. We can convert it to an auto-lighting thermocouple safety system for $950. Precise width is 37 5/8”.
Classic stove, classic color. This model C highback in Belair Blue will elicit sighs from all who step into your kitchen. (Sorry, these shots make the blue seem rather pale and uneven panel to panel). “Rhapsody” has all the standard features that make a Chambers so great: ThermoOven and ThermoWell are both super-efficient, and can “Cook With The Gas Turned Off”. There’s the handy “In-A-Top” broiler and griddle. All features that make cooking so enjoyable and efficient, plus the distinctive looks that will make your kitchen a place of inspiring beauty.
“Rhapsody”’s oven is match-lit. If you’d prefer an auto-lighting thermocouple oven safety system, the additional charge would be $950.
We’ve restored the oven door springs which have typically failed in every model C, and replaced the formerly damaged backsplash.
Side panels are nicked in the back, which won’t show if your stove’s going between cabinets. We may have better ones for extra cost. Just ask.
Yes, she’s dang cruddy inside, but that’s nothing that you and a few cans of Easy Off (Blue can, of course) can’t take care of. If you’d like us to thoroughly clean all interior spaces (does not remove rust), the charge would be $650.

Here’s a beautiful, classic, early Chambers model C, made 1949-’53. Very nice enamel panels: the only ‘dings’ are on the corner of the oven door, and low on both sides of the backsplash (restorable at extra price). Otherwise, very nice chrome cooktop, spice shelf, and control levers. The oven and timer dials are missing in the photos but will match the red cloisonne badge on the backsplash.
If you are love cooking, you will LOVE cooking on a Chambers. The griddle and flip-up broiler are always at your fingertips. The 3 cooktop burners are quick to heat and easy to finesse. The ThermoWell functions as both a slow cooker (for broth, soup and stew), AND, with the optional ThermoBaker, as a mini-oven, for every thing from baked potatoes to pies.
“Alma’s” oven is match-lit. We can convert it to an auto-lighting safety system for $950.
The Chambers Model C, an icon of the Mid Century Modern era. Our “Vanna” is the second C iteration, made 1950-’53. Very nice enamel panels. The chrome cooktop is in fair shape, with a bit of pitting. (Apologies for the incomplete and rough appearance. All standard parts will of course be included. We’ll update the photos soon). Beautiful yellow cloisonné badge on the backsplash, matched with cloisonné oven and timer dials.
If you are love cooking, you will LOVE cooking on a Chambers. The griddle and flip-up In-A-Top broiler are always at your fingertips. The 3 cooktop burners are quick to heat and easy to finesse. The fourth burner, the ThermoWell, has three functions: use as a normal (though sunken) burner with the optional 7qt, twin 3.5 qt, or set of 1.75qt “Tri-Pots, as a slow cooker (for broth, soup and stew), AND, with the optional ThermoBaker, as a mini-oven, for every thing from baked potatoes to pies.
But the star of this show is certainly Chambers’ patented, super-insulated and sealed ThermoOven, that “Cooks With The Gas Turned Off”. Sound intimidating? No need: be sure to ask us about the essential Chambers “Idle Hour” cookbook, as well as the owner’s manual.
Like many of our stoves, “Vanna’s” disgusting interior spaces show that cleaning was not her previous owner’s superpower. We can do a thorough interior cleaning (does not remove rust) for $650.
“Vanna’s” oven is match-lit. We can convert it to an auto-lighting safety system for $950.
Precise width is 37 5/8”.
This pristine pair of cooking devices are the ultimate in design, performance and reliability, and the last in Chambers long history in producing cooktops and wall ovens. The cooktop is practically bullet proof, featuring a smoothly operating broiler/griddle, perfect for eggs, bacon and pancakes on the griddle, and perfectly charred fish, steaks, and vegetables in the broiler. Four powerful daisy burners. All ignited with spark ignition. The oven can be used conventionally for any recipe, or with retained heat, using the Chambers Idle Hour cookbook. Sorry for the poor photos.

Don’t let these horrible photos scare you away. “Errol” is yet another fantastic Chambers cooktop. Our expert skills will make it look and cook like new!

Yet another beautiful, fun Tappan DeLuxe, the type which we coined years ago as “Madam LaRue” (from the pinball machine mentioned in the song “Big Joe and Phantom 309” by Tommy Faile, performed so darn well by Tom Waits). (CLICK HERE TO LISTEN).
Multiple dazzling lites in the backsplash, plus glowing amber dial bezels for each burner, all recalling this one’s namesake “Grand Slam” 1950’s pinball machine. (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT)
Auto-igniting oven safety system. Rechargeable desiccant crisper drawer. Backsplash display has a clock face in very nice condition. Really great oven chrome.
“Grand Slam” has been partially restored and is priced accordingly (a full restoration would add $3000). All mechanical functions work perfectly except the clock (and it’s auto oven on/off function) and the 30 minute timer. The backsplash chrome is original though in very good shape. The backsplash clock face paint is original and has a few spots, but it’s plastic surface has been polished and it’s dials have been restored. The burner dials have been restored. The oven and broiler handle badges have been restored (stripped, repainted and polished), although the broiler’s badge has visible fissures. The original oven chrome is in unusually good shape. Does not have the burner covers/serving trays. There are a few porcelain nicks in the photos, but they will all be touched up.
Absolutely beautiful, practical, economical and fun. Civilization advances, but since the Tappan DeLuxe, stoves just continue to devolve.
